Thompson Burton Real Estate Partner and Attorney Blake Bars

Blake C. Bars is a Nashville-based real estate and finance attorney who works with investors, lenders, developers, family offices, and other clients as a partner with Thompson Burton PLLC. He has provided an array of clients with sophisticated transactional counsel, including structuring complex joint ventures and loan workouts. In addition, Blake has represented national and regional lenders in more than $2 billion in loan transactions.

Blake has also acted as developers' counsel on numerous multi-million dollar acquisition and leasing transactions. Most recently, he served as sponsor’s counsel throughout the acquisition, financing, and joint venture of a $65 million multifamily project. Prior to his work at Thompson Burton, he was in the Real Estate Practice Group at a large national law firm.

Blake attended the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and majored in political science. While there, he played football as an offensive lineman. For his contributions on and off the field, he earned the University of Michigan Athletic-Academic Achievement Award, an honor recognized by only a handful of student-athletes. He continued his education at the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he served as the senior articles editor for the Notre Dame Journal of Comparative Law and as chair of the Honor Council. His professional memberships include the Tennessee Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association, National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
